The FDA has alerted healthcare professionals and their patients that Advanced Medical Optics (AMO) has voluntarily recalled its Complete MoisturePlus Multi Purpose Solution. The recall came after the Center for Disease Control and Prevention linked the solution to a rare but serious eye infection, Acanthamoeba keratitis, caused by a parasite.AMO and the FDA have told consumers to stop using the solution immediately and to discard all partially used or unopened bottles.
