Social Security Disability Benefits Available for Disabled Workers

Becoming permanently disabled and unable to work for a living is something most people think will never happen to them. However, according to the U.S. Social Security Administration. 3 out of 10 Americans who work for 20 years or more will become permanently disabled before reaching retirement age.

SSD pays benefits to the disabled worker and in some cases a worker’s relatives if the disabled worker has worked long enough and paid enough Social Security taxes. SSI is designed to help qualified aged, blind, and disabled workers who have little or no income by providing cash to provide for food, clothing, shelter, and other basic needs.
