Bisphosphonates Drug Class

Fosamax belongs to the bisphosphonates class of drugs. Some drugs in the class are administered intravenously at high doses to treat advanced bone cancers.  Bisphosphonates are prescribed to treat osteoporosis, Paget’s disease of the bone (osteitis deformans) and advanced cancers that have metastasized to the bone tissue.
