Window Blinds & Shades Recalled After Child Dies

Even the most common household products sometimes unexpectedly prove fatal. Yesterday, the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced that it was recalling 677,330 window blinds sold by IKEA and Green Mountain Vista. The recall comes nearly 7 months after a 1-year-old girl from Greenwich, Connecticut chocked to death on the inner cord of a set of IKEA Roman blinds. Now, the CPSC is also reporting that it had known of another incident, where back in June, a 2-year-old girl from Bristol, Connecticut nearly died after getting her neck caught on the beaded-chain loop hanging from a set of Green Mountain…Continue » Posted in
